Animal Collective’s Deacon Is Heading To Africa

It has been confirmed that Josh Dibb( Formely known as “Deakin”, now known as “Deacon”) will be heading to Africa to perform at the Festival in the Desert in Mali. Just before Christmas, the mission for the Kickstarter page used to help raise funds for Dibb’s trip changed. The trip would be funded by Animal Collective’s label, Paw Tracks, and the money would go to the Malian charity TEMEDT, which fights for the rights of black Tuareg people. In other Animal Collective news, the boys reissue of Campfire Songs will be released on January 26, 2010 on Paw Tracks.
