Natasha Khan has definitely worked her ass off to get to where she is. On May 20th, the British singer/songwriter was awarded the Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song for Daniel, which is off the 2009 hit record Two Suns. On a statement released on her website, Natasha talks about how much writing the song meant to her and thanks her fans for their love and support.
She also reveals that she’s in the baby stages of writing the follow-up to Two Suns, stating that : “I am writing the new album right now and so excited to be creating a whole new world!! Cups of tea, piles of books and musical instruments abound. I am also making some short films which i hope to share with you at some point”. According to a post on Exclaim, Natasha says she’s planning to take her time with this one.
“I’ve got a bunch of songs, it’s not early days in terms of I’ve got enough where I could make an album. But actually I want to take more time with this one because I’ve been on tour for so long and I think it’s boring to write songs about being on tour.”
Considering how amazing Two Suns was last year; the thought of a third album so fun is almost too overwhelming. Bat For Lashes has also just done a song with Beck for the upcoming Twilight Soundtrack(the post on Exclaim also discusses her plans to possibly collaborate with Beck again)
