Bear In Heaven Remix Crystal Castles

11 Jun

When Bear In Heaven busted onto the scene last year; these kids were clearly playing for keeps. From getting a best new music on Pitchfork, to sold out tours; this Brooklyn trio has been getting all the right attention. We just creeped Dazed today and saw an interview with Crystal Castles, which included an exclusive remix done by Bear In Heaven. This is pretty interesting considering the band will be touring with Crystal Castles in the new future, as well as playing every music festival this summer. Listen to the remix and let us know what you think.

New Mice Parade Record, What It Means To Be Left-Handed

10 Jun

Adam Pierce is a pretty amazing dude. Every time he’s dropped a record it’s been absolutely genius and his last effort; the 2007 self titled LP, Mice Parade was no exception. As we reported back in December, Mice Parade had September in his sights for the release of the new record. The record is called What It Means To Be Left-Handed and we now know that it drops on September 14th(via Fat Cat); thanks to a little tip from Stereogum . In addition to the tracks on the record; there will be covers of the Lemonheads’ Mallo Cup and Tom Brosseau’s Mary Anne. T. Should be pretty fucking amazing! Can’t wait.

Update : The link on Stereogum is a little wonky, so you can check the new song out on You Tube

Rap-Up had posted that Kelis was working on the video for her next single, 4th of July (Fireworks). A teaser for the new video is currently making it’s rounds on You Tube. When this video comes up it may be as crazy as Accapella(if that’s possible). Fleshtone, Kelis next album, drops in July.

Girl Talk Preps Third LP, Starting Tomorrow

6 Jun

Girl Talk’s album, Feed The Animals dropped back in November 2008 and it’s no surprise that Gregg Gillis has still been able to keep our attention this long. From the infamous New Years Eve party, to having young teenage tarts shaking their booties at the Olympics; Girl Talk is keeping the party going this year and he’s just getting started. Word got out in early March that there would be a new Girl Talk coming out this year and it’s looks like it’s actually gonna happen. Girl Talk just posted on his twitter five minutes ago that he’s going to begin work on the follow-up to Feed The Animals starting tomorrow. No other details have been given, but it’s pretty exciting to know that we’ll get to hear a new Girl Talk album this year.

Girl Talk will be playing The Sound Academy in Toronto on June 18th with Key N Krates and Kidstreet

Sleep Paralysist(Via AOL Music)

Austin’s own Neon Indian has been tearing up the music scene since the release of his album, Psychic Chasms last year. This is the first single to get a music video and we’ve got to say it’s pretty amazing. The video was directed by Focus Creeps(these dudes are still very new to the game and they’re already kicking ass). If you want to see how everything came together, you can check out the making of the video on Spinner.

Diddy’s “Avant-Garde” Album Cover For Last Train To Paris

2 Jun

When word got out that Diddy was going to do a concept album; it’s safe to say that everybody had their doubts that it would be a smash hit. Diddy(who’s also been performing under the Dirty Money moniker) decided to leave his celebrity connections behind when it came to shooting the cover for Last Train To Paris. According to, Interscope Records contacted Australian photographer Jarrod “Jrod” Kimber for one of his photos that he snapped at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris during a 2008 vacation. After repeated attempts to reach him, they finally connected and the label purchased the photo from him.

The reaction to the cover for the album has been very negative surprisingly(read the comments on Rap-Up). Some fans are praising Diddy for going in a more “indie”,”avant-garde” direction, but a lot of other die-hard hip hop are not happy. Whether you love it or hate it, Diddy’s Last Train To Paris drops on June 28th. Remember kids, the cover doesn’t always equal hit record. Let’s wait and see what the finish product sounds like
